On a BowerBird User Profile, Studio Profile, and Publication Profile you'll see a 'Follow' button. Currently, when you follow a User Profile, an alert will be sent to the user letting them know you followed them. Think of it as a 'hi'.
We have plans to introduce increased functionality around this feature – in line with other social media platforms – so stay tuned. In the meantime, keep following users so that when new features are released, you'll be able to take advantage.
